Discover how to learn Spanish in just one week with this easy-to-learn method.
This is a proven step-by-step method to learning Spanish as an English speaker. More than 1000 common phrases included.
As an educator for more than 20 years, I'm a fan of teaching others. And there is no greater challenge than to learn a language. Learning Spanish is such a challenge, but enriching on so many levels. It's not only an intellectual challenge, but imagine transforming your travel experiences, allowing you to connect with new and interesting people, or even live or study in places like Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico City, or Buenos Aires! In essence, it's a journey to become more open minded about the world, discovering amazing new people in the process.
Learning is not the obsessive command of structures and vocabulary, but the willingness to overcome our most basic fears and insecurities. Over the course of this book, I will convey enough knowledge of Spanish so that you will be able to read, listen, and interact with people in this new language with the knowledge that will inspire confidence. In learning Spanish, you will be facing five basic but important challenges grammar, vocabulary, slang and colloquialism, pronunciation, and variations of the language. In this book, I will lay out the fundamentals of each of these stepping stones in an easy to understand method.
Imagine reading Borges, Cervantes, Neruda, Allende, or Coelho in its original form! Imagine heading out to Santiago, Lima, or Antigua fully equipped to interact with the locals! I invite you to listen and begin a fascinating learning experience.

I've been studying with this book for over a week now. Ignore the title. This book is about encouraging you to begin speaking Spanish as quickly as possible, and it does succeed at that.I really like the author's approach to simplifying verbs -- instead of referring to the "second conjugation of the preterite tense of aprender", describe it as "I learned". I find this to be a simpler, and more encouraging approach to verbs than the more precise method other books use. Verbs (a subset of the most commonly used ones) are presented in Appendix 1.
When I started studying this book, I thought it was worth five stars, due to how encouraging it was, and for the inclusion of stuff like the list of spanish words that are similar to english, and "English Words With a Spanish Accent?". What made me think it was only worth four stars was that it seems it could use more proofreading. Specifically, the discussion of verbs is along the lines of "review the verbs in Appendix 1, and when you have done so, translate these phrases". There are no answers available for the translated phrases, and not all the verbs required for the exercise phrases are in the book (ie, decir is not there), so you are left on your own to check your answers against something like google translate, or to just not learn from your mistakes. I think proofreaders, or more test readers, would have pointed out these things.
What made me rate this three stars instead of four is that the title is misleading--it oversells what is otherwise a very good book. One week with this book should make you capable of speaking a limited amount of basic, broken, spanish (I am studying this while in Paraguay, where almost no one speaks English, and I am well aware of how difficult my conversations still are), not "Spanish Mastery". To be able to speak a limited amount of basic, broken Spanish after a week is an achievement, but I think titles that oversell should be rated accordingly.
Overall, I found the book encouraging, and with useful information presented in a simple, easy-to-follow manner. If the book had some more proofreading, and changed the title to something more accurate like "One Week to Basic Spanish Conversation", I'd give it five stars.

One Week Spanish Mastery The Complete Beginner Guide to Learn Spanish in Just One Week (Audible Audio Edition) Erica Stewart Julia Ward Alex Publishing Books Reviews
A nice introduction to Spanish, wish the author had a followup volume to this original text.
I like the way the topic was organized, it has helped me in my approach to learning Spanish
No mention of word sounds or how the letters are pronounced!
Good ideas for learning, but need some idea as to pronunciation!
I am making another review, after looking at this book again it turns out that it is quite helpful for a person who wants to learn Spanish.
the lessons are very clear and easy to understand.
Complicated and complex approach for the target audience
Great learning tool!
I took Spanish back in high school and haven't spoken more than a couple of words of it since. This book by Erica Stewart helped me get right back into it. It is well written and easy to read and follow. I have read her One Week Portuguese Mastery as well and loved it. I will recommend to friends and look into more of Erica's work. Good job!
Book is good, but I’m finding that for me, learning a second language is difficult. There is no “magic formula” - it takes time, study, and practice.
